I am messy. I bump into life.

I don’t have all the answers.

I never will.

I grew up as a third culture kid.

My mom was from Brazil while my dad was raised on a farm in Ohio. I was born into contradiction…how on earth did my parents fall in love? But they did. And you can bet, my brother and I are weird.

Don’t tell him I said that!

Spending my childhood traveling between Brazil to visit family and living in the US, I never quite felt like I belonged anywhere.

I was too American when in Brazil.
And when I was in the US:
I was a bit too much, too loud, too intense, too exuberant.

So, over the years I learned to curate myself to fit what would make others “accept” me or make myself more “tolerable” to them.

I pruned myself into a pleasant bonzai tree for others to enjoy.

Contorting myself to fit what everyone else wanted and needed me to be became exhausting and pushed me beyond my physical and emotional limits.

Long story short, my dad became ill and I went to care for both him and my mom in 2018. I gave everything I had and beyond, I was scraping the barrel but had no idea. After my dad passed, I cycled through burnout and shame that I couldn’t just get my shit together.

My body was desperate to get me to stop and listen, but I hadn’t learned its language yet.

Since then, I have been on a deep dive to try to really learn and understand what’s going on and how to truly be curious.

I believe I will always be an unfinished masterpiece, sitting in my studio tinkering with this and that. But I’ve come to find that pleasure in that.

I’ve decided that I’m worth the interest, the tinkering, the dedication and devotion.

So, any tool or method that I come across that piques my interest gets my childlike lego-building focus until I’ve learned how to apply it to my masterpiece.

I am messy. I bump into life.
I don’t have all the answers.
I never will.

But I love to connect with people like you…if you’ve read this far, you are my people…

I’d love to hear your story, see how we can use my collection of tools and methods, plus a dollop of woo, to swim around in your shadows so you feel less angsty and can more easily find the surface and come up for air in your life.
